Terms & Conditions

Well Being Check

A basic health check takes place prior to any groom. Whilst bathing or grooming, if we find anything that we think you should be concerned about we will inform you when you collect your pet. Pawra & Pals will not be liable for any pre-existing conditions.

Pricing

All dogs are priced individually based on their size, coat type and condition. Any prices given out prior to the appointment are an estimate. Dogs which require additional time due to the condition of their coat or are difficult to handle, will incur an additional charge. We reserve the right to alter the price given in these circumstances.

Safety

Health and Safety is our priority for both the groomer and pets during the grooming process. Under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, You must inform us prior to grooming if your pet has previously bitten someone, is aggressive, has been muzzled previously during grooming or any other questionable behavioural instances.

We reserve the right to refuse / end services to a dog that presents a risk of injury to itself or groomer. If services need to be stopped mid-appointment it will still be charged in full.

Veterinary Care

A grooming environment can be stressful for some dogs, especially for senior, young, overweight dogs or those with medical concerns. The process may expose unknown medical conditions or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. We may need to seek emergency veterinary treatment if we deem it necessary for whatever reason. We will always try to contact you first, before taking your pet for treatment. All medical expenses are the responsibility of the owner.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

A minimum of 48 hours notice is required when cancelling an appointment, otherwise the full cost will be charged. Please either telephone or message Pawra & Pals prior to this and we are more than happy to reschedule. Please try to contact us as soon as possible so that we can fill your appointment, and prevent a loss of income. If you fail to show up for your appointment and have not cancelled or rescheduled the full cost of the groom will be payable. No further appointment will be given until this fee is paid in full. 

Timekeeping

When arriving, please be punctual. We work by appointment only and the time allocated for your dog’s groom has been booked at your request exclusively. We do not double book appointments, a no-show is lost income. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late for their appointment will be considered a missed appointment and may have to re-book and be charged for the appointment.

Fleas

We reserve the right to decline dogs with fleas, if we find fleas on your dog during the appointment we will give you a call to either collect your dog or for you to give us permission to give your dog a flea bath. There are additional charges for both. 

Matting

Pawra & Pals will not be liable for any after effects of de-matting, matting can cause skin irritation and sores which can be aggravated by licking afterwards. If matting is severe we will do our very best to get your pet comfortable but be aware of the risks such as hematomas, these are most commonly found on the ear flap. 

Feedback

You will be given feedback after every groom. If you have any queries or need further clarification, please just ask or contact us. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet’s groom please let me know before you leave. Reasonable requests to alter the trim will be catered for immediately or changes noted for the next groom. We are more than happy to disclose any details of your pet’s groom or advise you about how best to care for your pet’s coat.

Photography

Your dog may be filmed or photographed before, during and after their groom. These may be positively used on our website or our social media pages unless you request not to do so.

Routine Appointments

Routine appointments are important. We advise owners to commit to a regular schedule for the dog's benefit. Any dogs that go over this may incur an additional charge.
